此胆瓶造型优美雅致，胎体洁白坚质，腹部通景墨彩描绘高士人物图，人物性格鲜活，开脸细腻，衣饰飘逸，彰显出高士的仙风道骨；高士身旁有一童子相伴，童子活泼可爱，为画面平填几分趣意。本品之构图拥有大面积留白，更显画意深远、清幽。墨彩浓淡相宜，笔触纤细有力，实为雍正墨彩器逸品佳作。
墨彩受欧洲赭墨珐琅彩瓷影响而生，融会水墨之意境，极得文人雅士欢心。墨彩首见于雍正一朝，《江西通志》记载雍正年间，年希尧及唐英担任景镇镇御窑厂督陶官，创烧墨彩，深得雍正帝喜爱。
