本品子母口，盖顶有一圆形钮，罐身圆直口，筒腹微收，圈足，足端无釉，露灰白胎体，可见火石红，盖与罐的外壁刻划莲瓣形状，莲瓣中央脊部稍微高起，其边缘用刀轻微划刻，上釉烧制后，因釉面流淌，致美朵莲瓣的中央薄釉处色较浅淡，划刻刀纹处积釉色浓，立体感油然而生，不仅如此，花瓣之间亦有层迭之感，构思巧妙，整体恰若一朵正在盛开的莲花。莲花装饰是陶瓷器装饰的主要题材，在佛经和佛教传说中，莲花因其具有洁净高雅的品格，与佛教提倡的超脱尘世的出世思想颇为契合，整器造型端庄，施釉厚润，粉青釉色柔和静雅，与莲瓣装饰主题相互呼应，体现出古人高尚的审美情操，是龙泉窑器中的精美佳作。
