此盏圆口，弧腹，浅圈足，内外施黑釉，碗底内有木叶纹，木叶的筋络分明，叶柄和主筋呈青黄的暖色调，折卧于带有青蓝色调的叶片中，呈曲卷折迭姿态，充满着禅意，圈足及底露胎，胎呈米黄色。传世及出土所见木叶盏，其碗心木叶多经脉含糊不清，此件木叶纹轮廓、经脉极为清晰，为吉州窑同类器中极少之上品。木叶贴花是此种工艺需先把树叶贴在素胎上，再施以黑釉，木叶贴花的珍贵之处就在于它对自然的保留：把自然界易逝的树叶保留于恒久的陶瓷材质中，体现了当时人们的诸种哲思，其所表现出来的意境，也颇近于“一花一世界、一叶一菩提”的禅理。
