此件作品选用善伯洞石雕刻而成，细腻凝润，富有蜡质感，且裁切方正，形制工整。作者林慧英巧施技艺，在其上雕刻母子兽作为章钮，共雕有一只母狮及三只幼狮，并将石头的一处红色巧色化为母狮爪中的球，造型精准，刀法细腻，狮子的爪牙、拳毛以及球的镂空处都极尽精巧，辅以章体四周的浮雕博古纹饰，彰显出古朴稳重之意。
