药师佛，又称药师如来、大医王佛，为东方净琉璃世界之教主，《药师琉璃光如来本愿功德经》载，东方有世界净琉璃，佛号药师琉璃光如来，此佛行菩萨道时，发十二大愿，愿为众生解除疾苦，修道成佛。 此尊药师佛全跏跌坐，左手于脐前施禅定印，右手持药果。其螺发规整饱满，肉髻隆起，面相方圆丰润，双目尤其做得甚有神韵，弯眉细目，双目垂俯，宛若未开敷的莲花苞，俯视着芸芸众生，神态慈祥柔和，额间见白毫，双耳垂肩。身着双领式通肩式大衣，腰前系结带，胸前刻饰「卍」符，衣纹刻画流畅，生动曲折，是汉地造像注重衣褶刻画的传统。整体造型端庄优美，头身比例匀称有度，铜胎厚重，是明代中原地区汉传佛教造像的典范。 年代、工艺相同，尺寸相近的明代释迦牟尼佛坐像，见西泠拍卖，2011年7月18拍品，编号2907，成交价RMB 218,500.
