A pair of Chinese famille rose rolwagen vases dating from the late 19th century. The bodies depict framed scenes of figures in courtly scene alternating with scenes of birds and butterflies with flowers. All framed scenes are set against a gold-toned ground with lotus tracery. Each vase has a pair of gold-colored beast handles. Dimensions are: 10 inches tall X 4 3/4 inches wide, 25.4 cm X 12.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One vase has a chip to the rim as well as several chips to the body. The other vase has a large chip to the rim. Provenance: From a private CT collection.
