A pair of Chinese yellow-ground famille rose tianqiu vases dating from the 20th century. Both vases feature dragons flying among auspicious symbols with double happiness characters over a wave and rock motif. The rim has its own smaller register of dragons flying over waves with bats and double happiness characters. The bottom of each vase has a 4-character mark. Dimensions are: 13 1/2 inches tall X 9 1/2 inches wide, 34.3 cm X 24.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Both vases in overall good condition. Provenance: From a private VA collection.
