A 1755 print of the General History of the Church by the Abbot of Choysi. The book has been rebound with vellum but contains the original printing. The book covers the general history of the Church, from its foundation, to this present century. The book was written in French by the Abbot of Choysi, of the Academy of Paris and translated into Spanish by Don Estevan Gazan. It contains all the memorable events that occurred in the series of centuries including: all the councils, the succession of the Supreme Pontiffs of the emperors of both empires, of the East, and the West, the illustrious men, who flourished their works the heresiarchs, the persecutions of the Church, writings of the Holy Fathers the torments of all the martyrs of Christianity the whole, taken from Sacred Scripture, from tradition, and from the most true historians. Tomo Octavo. Published in Madrid in the office of Antonio Perez de Soto, 1755. Dimensions are: Octavo (8 inches X 6 inches X 1 1/2 inches).
