A Japanese bronze hand warmer dating from the Meiji period. The lid features relief decoration of chrysanthemums and birds. The body features birds on blossoming branches. The bottom has a 6-character mark with a pair of dragons. Dimensions are: 5 inches tall X 8 1/2 inches wide, 12.7 cm X 21.6 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Use wear.
