A group of 2 etchings by Willy Seiler, a well-known artist among collectors of Japanese prints. Little is known about Seiler’s life. He was born in 1903 Dresden. In 1928 he left Germany and traveled to different European countries, possibly also to America and Asia. The two etchings depict figures in landscapes. Dimensions are: the largest measures, framed 18 1/2 inches tall X 15 inches wide, 46.99 cm X 38.1 cm, sight measurement, 14 inches X 11 inches, 35.56 cm X 27.94 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a rip in the bottom corner of 1. Both have some yellowing due to age. Not inspected outside of the frame. Provenance: From a private collection in Lorton, Virginia. The collector has been restoring antiques for over 50 years in the Washington, DC area.
