A continental parcel-gilt bronze marriage belt, possibly German, late 17th/early 18th century, with six rectangular sections cast with a central putto head flanked by mermaids/merman, joined by double linked chains and a hanging loop for a purse, 90cm long Note: Examples of these belts, mostly made for weddings, were also made in silver.
