意明王护法一般常见于上师或本尊之侧，以其单独形象出现的艺术作品相对较少，本尊意明王护法身着战袍，足蹬战靴，衣袖飘扬。左臂举刀，右手上扬，面相忿怒，三目圆张，横眉立目，张口露齿，表情夸张。以威震三界的坐姿侧坐在一头象背上，坐骑白象立于其下骑狮、骑牛、骑羊三护法身后的火焰纹之上，象鼻上扬，象嘴大张，主尊两侧的自然山水间，展现了神灵降服邪魔的情景。画面最上方绘药师佛坐像，下方及主尊两侧为宁玛派重要护法。整幅唐卡布局灵动，用色鲜艳浓烈，人物描绘生动自然，尤其是题材非常罕见，宗教内涵极其深厚，非常值得收藏。
