A rare Vietnamese 15/16th Century bracket-lobed pottery dish. Decorated with underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze polychrome enamels of which there are only remnants left. The central motif in underglaze blue which outlines an image of a carp turning into a dragon, would have originally been detailed with overglaze enamels, filling in the motif with scales as well as cloud decoration and further decoration to the edges of the dish.
