说明：金铜为材，犀牛为俯卧状，右前蹄支地，似欲撑起上半身，回首望向背部由如意云纹托起的月牙。牛首有长短牛角各一，双眼有神，腿部鬃毛分明，臀部有似火焰形纹饰，局部鎏金，整器包浆自然。
犀牛望月典出《世说新语》，晋武帝大臣满奋怕风，自嘲怕风如同吴地水牛怕热，即使见到月亮，仍误认为太阳，对月喘气，最终引来武帝笑话。
