拍品为乾隆仿明代御窑同类制器之摹古佳作，此类纹饰或肇始于明洪武时期，后朝多有仿烧，可见青花、霁蓝描金、霁红描金等数类品种，香港苏富比曾于1988年拍出一只明十五世纪红釉描金云龙纹盘，拍品与之造型、纹饰、装饰手法均相同，可资参阅。
盘形周正，全器满施鲜红釉，釉色鲜艳，匀净浓郁。内、外均以金彩为饰，盘心以品字形绘三朵云纹，口沿一匝卷草纹，外壁环绘双龙赶珠纹，龙身矫健，神态威猛。红釉、金彩交相辉映，设色明艳悦目，绘工流畅精湛。
