An 18th century gilt, pair cased verge pocket watch with chatelaine, the white enamel dial with Roman black numerals, steel, beetle and poker hands, the verge escapement with fusee, foliate engraved balance cock and foot, steel regulator wheel, signed Abr'm James, London, numbered 5329, the outer gilt repousse case depicting a classical allegorical scene, together with gilt chatelaine, chased and engraved with floral decoration and trophies, and three watch keys, c.1770, case width 48mmAbrasions and scratches commensurate with age and use, wear to gilt decoration on raised surfaces, chip to glass near number 6 and some fine cracks to dial near numbers 2 and 7, watch keys 19th century and later, movement currently running.
