此件铜胎掐丝珐琅炉，器物造型仿商周时的方鼎，为鼎式炉，双立耳，四足型制规整，庄重典雅。器盖饰镂空勾云纹，上嵌鎏金狮子戏球钮，器身掐丝填以蓝、红、褐、淡绿色等珐琅料彩做饕餮纹，色彩艳丽堂皇，填彩严谨细致，器表打磨精细。乾隆帝非常喜爱掐丝珐琅，并命养心殿造办处珐琅作生产了种类繁多、难以计数的掐丝珐琅器，尤以仿古器造型端庄华美，掐丝工整严紧，珐琅釉料，温润似玉，色调典雅，光泽浑厚，形成了清代掐丝珐琅的典型风格，此器即为中之佳品。
