余秋雨，1946年8月23日出生于浙江省余姚县，中国著名当代文化学者，理论家、文化史学家、作家、散文家。 1966年毕业于上海戏剧学院戏剧文学系。1980年陆续出版了《戏剧理论史稿》《中国戏剧文化史述》《戏剧审美心理学》。1985年成为中国大陆最年轻的文科教授。1986年被授予上海十大学术精英。1987年被授予国家级突出贡献专家的荣誉称号。 余秋雨以擅写历史文化散文著称，他的散文集《文化苦旅》在出版后广受欢迎。此外，他还著有《山居笔记》《霜冷长河》《千年一叹》等散文作品。
