Exceptional Sino/Tibetan Trunk with Original Iron Mounts, 18th century. This beautiful trunk with leather over wood surmounted with finely crafted metal mounts including the characters for “happiness” dates from the mid 18th century. It has had tasteful restoration done in both the 19th and 20th century but has maintained a fine patina throughout. The interior was, at one time covered in both paper and fabric whose remnants were removed during the last restoration giving the interior a fresher look.
