A pair of Chinese peachbloom laifu vases, one of which has been converted into a lamp, dating from the 19th century. The necks of the vases have xian string patterns. The stand-alone vase has a 6-character mark on the bottom. Dimensions are: the stand alone vase measures 7 5/8 inches tall X 3 1/4 inches wide, 19.4 cm X 8.3 cm, while the lamp measures 12 inches tall X 4 inches wide, 30.5 cm X 10.2 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The stand alone vase has been drilled through the bottom. The lamp vase's neck has been separated from its body, and there is a chip and a repair to the bottom of the neck. A foot of the wooden base of the lamp is missing, and the lamp cord is cut. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission. Provenance: From a private Virginia estate. High resolution photos can be found here.
