A pair of Chinese blue and white seal boxes dating from the Republic period. The lids and bases of the round boxes both feature continuous landscape scenes with two figures crossing a bridge. The bottoms have 6-character marks. Dimensions are: 1 1/2 inches tall X 3 1/2 inches wide, 3.8 cm X 8.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The rim of the base of one box has two chips, and the other has one chip. Both lids are in good condition. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission. Provenance: From a private New York collection. These items were acquired by the current collector's mother during her time in Shanghai. High resolution photos can be found here.
