Description
Translation provided by Youdao
A pair of Chinese famille rose vases that have been converted into lamps dating from the early 20th century. Each lamp has two framed roundels of pond scenes with ducks, which are rendered in very high, molded relief. The frames are set against a blue ground with lotus tracery. Dimensions are: the vase measures 11 1/4 inches tall X 6 inches wide, 28.6 cm X 15.2 cm, while the lamp measures 17 inches tall X 6 inches wide, 43.2 cm X 15.2 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Aside from their conversion into lamps, both vases features significant areas of loss to the molded decoration. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission. Provenance: From a private Georgia collection. High resolution photos can be found here.
