An Imposing Cloisonne Enamel Censer The censer of urn form with square base raised on four cabriole legs and with upright handles, two further handles fashioned as elaborate stylised dragons chasing a fiery pearl in red enamel on a blue ground inlaid with colourful flower heads and leaf scrolls that repeat in a more complex pattern around the body, the center of the urn with a coiled front-facing fierce dragon and fiery pearl, the upper body with two smaller dragons contesting the fiery pearl all on a blue ground, surrounded by ribbons of colourful flames and clouds styled as ruyi-heads, bands of yellow lappets outlined in cobalt blue ring the shoulder, upper neck and above the foot, the cabriole feet intricately detailed with fanged mythical creatures with flowing green manes, lotus scroll around the foot with the addition of yellow and blue gourds, the pattern repeating at the neck. Period: 18th/19th century. Height: 54.5 cm.
