A Fine Longquan Celadon Vase and Cover The vase sturdily potted with an ovoid body resting on a short foot. A straight neck surmounted by a grooved mouth below a galleried rim. The body is carved and combed with four panels of plantain leaves separated by four smaller panels of leaves. The domed cover is carved with swirling lines surmounted by a finial in the form of a beast. The whole covered with a crackled olive-green glaze with the exception of the base of the vase. Period: Northern Song (960‑1279). Height: 24 cm.
