A Chinese Pink Ground Bowl The bowl is raised on a short circular foot and has a slightly flared gilt rim, the rounded sides are covered to the exterior with an attractive bright pink glaze, the interior decorated in shades of underglaze blue with a scene from ‘The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl’, depicting a woman standing before a man leading a large cow, surrounded by swooping birds, all below a starlit sky with constellations and swirling clouds, further birds and clouds to the interior wall, the glazed base with the square seal mark of Daoguang in underglaze blue. Period: probably Daoguang (1821‑1850). Diameter: 15 cm.
