Large painted Chinese ancestral portrait of a seated lady, most probably an official's wife. Wearing a Phoenix and floral decorated headdress, and a red ground robe with dragon and bird decoration. Was once a hanging scroll that has since been framed. By consignor provenance this was purchased from a gallery on the Left Bank in Paris between 1986/1987. From a Park Avenue, NYC estate.
