signed WANGHUI,inscribed,and with one seal of the artist dated Renshen year（1662） ink and color on paper, hanging scroll Wang Hui (1632–1717) was a Chinese landscape painter, one of the Four Wangs.Though much of his painting is academic and pedestrian,there is in his best works an intensity in the handling of brushstroke rhythms and textures that yields a dense and detailed unity without losing the composition's clarity or meaning.
