盛唐时期，随着国力的强盛与佛教的空前繁荣，佛像艺术的发展达到了鼎盛，进入了真正的成熟时期。造像风格出现了前所未有的变化，此件优美的观音立像，面相丰满而圆润，头戴装饰繁缛的高髻发冠，桃形镂空头光。躯体姿势自然优美，呈三折枝式，上身坦露披缨络，下身着长裙，臂挽帔帛呈波浪形飘下，其褶皱与帔帛极富动感。观音左手胸前侧举，右手下垂持净瓶，这是唐代观音像最具特色的造型。跣足立于圆包状莲座上，莲座下连铸镂空壸门方床，壸门为尖拱形。通体鎏金，局部有红斑蓝锈。整尊造像工艺讲究，气韵生动，肃穆端庄，刚柔并济，称其凝结盛唐艺术之精髓亦不为过。
