主尊释迦牟尼佛居于中央，跏趺端坐于高大的须弥台座上，头饰螺发，身披袈裟，具备佛的一切相好特征，左手于结禅定印托钵，右手抚膝施触地印，身后有圆形头光和身光，蓝色的身光内有放射状金线，突出佛陀智慧的巨大能量。主尊上下左右绘有大量人物和景物，情节生动有趣，表现了释迦牟尼佛成佛之前无数世救度众生的种种事迹。画面构图灵活多变，山水云雾、建筑树木叠压交错；人物和景物勾勒精细，色彩对比分明。整幅画作内容丰富，主次分明，色彩艳丽，绘制极为精细，堪为西藏唐卡艺术的佳品。
