此件刘海戏金蟾以和阗白玉圆雕而成，玉质白润而微带红沁，细腻致密。刘海作蹦跳造型，身着长衫，胸膛袒露，笑容满面，富有喜感。一手持扫帚搭于肩后，一手托金蟾置于胸前。刘海戏金蟾是古老的中国民间传说故事，来源于道家的典故。常德城内井里有金蟾，住在井旁的青年刘海家贫如洗，为人厚道，事母至孝，后来以宝珠为饵，引出金蟾，踩金蟾背而登天成仙。而后来逐渐演变为招财进宝的寓意。整体造型生动有趣，琢刻十分细腻，纹饰线条流畅自然，堪为精品。
