赏析：端砚附紫檀盖与托。石质坚润细腻，色泽紫中泛红。长方形，砚周作双框线，素面。砚堂浅漥，砚首巧落为砚池。文房四宝，砚为其一。在中国所产的四大名砚中，尤以广东省端砚最为称着。端砚以石质坚实、润滑、细腻、娇嫩而驰名于世，用端砚研墨不滞，发墨快，研出之墨汁细滑，书写流畅不损毫，字迹颜色经久不变，端砚若佳，无论是酷暑还是严冬，用手按其砚心，砚心湛蓝墨绿，水气久久不干，故古人有“呵气研墨”之说。此砚使用痕迹明显，上残留朱砂。
