An Indian sandstone Ganesha stele fragment, Rajasthan 11th/12th century, the multi-armed elephant-headed god dancing with his arms radiating, holding a bowl of sweets in one hand from which he is sampling with his curled trunk,Provenance - ex Roland-Geist collection, bought from the dealer Gill Lipton c.1975, who in turn had acquired the work from Spinks, London. Dimensions 66cm high, 60 cm wide, excluding metal stand Condition Report As can be seen from the photographs this is a fragment of a larger stele. There are losses to the arms, both ears and the legs of Ganesha.
