此件香案以木为胎,两端翘头隆起,向外微卷。海棠式牙板,内翻马蹄式足。案造型稳重而不失俊秀,华美又不失质朴。内外髹光亮黑漆,牙板描金菱形锦地,面板四周及足内侧描金流云纹饰。案面最为要紧,以金彩描绘庭院人物通景,画面布局疏朗有致,无论是亭台楼阁、小桥流水,还是高士童子、深闺女眷,刻画得生动传神;其山水景物起伏迭荡,纵深感极强,峦的阴阳反侧,树木的疏落茂密,描绘得出神入化。极简的造型与极精的纹饰,极巧的构思与极妙的创意,浓缩于这一代表清早期最高描金黑漆的作品,可谓难觅其二。
