此件银扳指，上下各装饰一道“回”字纹。中间为镂空的变形“喜”纹。结构为上下子母口内书“餘庆纹银”二行楷书。扳指是用象牙、兽骨或玉石、翡翠、玛瑙等制成的圆环，套在右拇指上以利射箭时勾弦。《说文•韦部》“韘，射决也，所以拘弦”清段玉裁注：“按，即今人之扳指也。”满清皇室自关外入主中原，特别注意保持骑射旧俗，以扳指作为身份的象征和珍贵的赏赐，故做工多精美华贵。《嘉庆实录》记载嘉庆八年四川剿匪“再发去白玉扳指三个。翡翠扳指二个。玛瑙扳指五个。磁扳指十个。磁带头十个。磁鼻烟壶十个。大荷包五对。小荷包十个。著加恩赏给出力将领官员。”
