黄胄，1925年出生，1997年逝世，河北省蠡景县人。原姓梁，名淦堂。1949年参加人民解放军，1955年调北京为军队专业画家。曾任中国画研究院副院长，北京炎黄艺术馆馆长。1957年《洪荒风雪》获第6届世界青年联欢节国际艺术展览会金奖。1978至1985年，是黄胄创作的另一个高峰期，《欢腾的草原》等作品被悬挂在人民大会堂、中南海、钓鱼台国宾馆等重要场地。
