普明大日如來，梵名叫做摩訶毗盧遮那，摩訶是大的意思，毗盧遮那是日的意思，故譯爲大日。又毗盧遮那是光明遍照的意思，故又名爲遍照如來，是密教的本尊。主尊居畫面正中，呈四面相，發髻高來， 佩戴玉葉寶冠，面部表情祥和，上身軀體勁健，配各式飾物，雙手于腹前結禪定印，下身着華麗長裙， 雙腿結跏跌坐姿，下承鮮花寶座，整幅唐卡構圖規整, 布局飽滿，色彩鮮艷亮麗。
