Of slightly everted mouth rim, blue glaze ground reversed to the white peony pattern, the dish has repaired traces. Blue-glazed white porcelain is an innovation at Jingdezhen in the Yuan dynasty, with its contrasting blue and white colour and good decorative effect. This decorative variety was developed at Jingdezhen kilns during the Xuande period of the Ming dynasty, with more delicate engravings and a greater variety of shapes and decorative subjects, such as plates, bowls and zun, and decorative subjects such as dragons, fish and lotus, daylilies, folded flowers and fruits, and entwined flowers.
