提要：拍品白色犊皮纸精装，书顶书根书口刷蓝，雕版书名页富丽堂皇，内文的雕版地图以及钱币插图都保存极好，细节清晰，无比精美，极富史料价值。
作者Erasmus Frohlich（1700-1758），奥地利耶稣会士、历史学家、钱币学家、图书管理员。奥地利皇帝弗兰茨一世委托其与其他两位学者共同编纂皇家钱币收藏，成果集结为两卷作品进行了发表。这部基于钱币学研究的《塞琉古帝国调查报告》最早发表于1744年，在发表后受到同时代历史学家、古物学家的高度评价，还引发了与路德宗神学家Ernst Friedrich Wernsdorf关于《马卡比书》与《旧约》关系的论争。
