此件玉琮体型小巧，局部受沁，玉质温润，包浆厚重。其形制为方柱体，作内圆外方形，切割规整，打磨光润，光素无饰。器型虽小，却庄重素雅，岁月痕迹更显厚重。琮，是古代礼器，《周礼》中记其为六种瑞玉之一。后世有苍璧礼天，黄琮礼地之说，认为璧和琮象征着天圆地方，是重要的祭祀礼仪用器。
