Circa 600 500 BC. A black ware vessel formed with high arching strap handles which extend above the lip of the cup and give it an elegant shape. This vessels rests on a shallow flared foot. The bucchero ware is well known for its black fabric and glossy surface in which it was achieved by firing the pieces in a kiln manipulating the oxygen levels which ultimately converted the colour of the clay.
