Circa 1000-900 AD. A very rare and unusual object to find on the art market, a full Viking door padlock with two decorative lions used as a protective force. This padlock is of high quality and possibly used to protect a building of high importance, possibly a storage area for someone of high social status or a building of significance within the community. Very fine condition. Extremely rare and uncommon object to find available on the art market. Size: L:80mm / W:330mm ; 940g. Provenance: From a private collection; previously was acquired from G. M. in London in 2017.
