Circa 475 - 221 BC. A masterfully formed spear with short, leaf shaped blade, the handle is hollow, decorated at the top with panels of cylindrical spiral circles, above this on the left hand a stylised hand with centre concentric circle, below this, in an upside down V shape which is filled with concentric circle design, inside of this section is decorated with a granule design, below this a linear box encircling the piece with a small granule design, followed by a geometric pattern falling down to the bottom of the handle. The two loops have been designed to look like arms, with stylised hands holding the side of the handle. The lowest section of the handle looks like a head with rounded eyes, being held by the loops in the form of hands, these loops have been attached at the lower part of the spear and would have been used to attach to a wooden shaft. The military of Warring States region covers primarily to the military apparatuses of the seven Warring States who bought around 475 221 BC when the state of Qin conquered the other six regional states. Forming what we know today as Chinas first imperial dynasty. The Qin Dynasty. Size: L:180mm / W:80mm ; 520g.
