Pair of Sevres porcelain and ormolu ewers, of pedestal form with cast rocaille spout and spreading foot, the bodies painted with a panel of exotic birds in a garden, reserved on a bleu celeste ground with gilt caillouté decoration, with painted interlaced Ls to base (concealed), concocted from a pair of 18th Century covered c, 19cm highCondition report: These ewers have been concocted from earlier covered c. Both with two patches of over painting where the handle originally joined the cup.Ewer 1: 5mm indentation to left of the pink bird's head with discolouration. What appears to be smudges of white emulsion to bottom edge of panel. Some stained areas to upper section. Misshaping to foot.Ewer 2: This has suffered quite considerably from having been dropped and re-stuck. Body with large 'U' shaped crack from top to bottom of pane; and back up again, with a 'v' shaped loss to the blue area of approx. 4mm. Areas of pitting to the panel. Upper section has been smashed and re-glued with numero visible crudely repaired cracks. dirty glue residue and small losses to porcelain. The ofrmolu handle is missing and the foot is misshapen.
