A COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF BUDDHA AMITABHA, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. Executed in repoussé over a solid-cast core. Seated in dhyanasana on a sealed double-lotus base with beaded upper edge, the hands lowered in dhyanamudra. Wearing a garment finely incised with foliate designs at the hems and a sash over the left shoulder, richly adorned in beaded jewelry.

Provenance: From a Dutch private collection.
Condition: Small old soldering repair here and there, losses to inlays, the attribute held in his hands lost as well. Extensive wear, dents, few small tears and warping to lower area of the base, remnants of gilt.

The serene face with heavy-lidded eyes under gently arched eyebrows, flanked by long pendulous earlobes, the hair arranged in a high chignon. The seal plate neatly incised with a vishvavajra. 清代阿彌陀佛錘揲銅像 中國，1644-1912。銅像實心鑄造，錘揲工藝。阿彌陀佛結跏趺座坐在蓮座上，手施禪那印。身穿一件下擺飾有葉狀圖案的衣袍，左肩飾有飾帶，頸部飾有華麗的串珠首飾。
