THREE FAMILIE ROSE PORCELAIN ‘LOTUS’ LIBATION CUPS
China, Guangxu period (1875-1908), dated 1908. Each molded in the shape of a lotus flower, the interior and exterior walls enameled in shades of rose. A small drainage holes in the well placed within green reserves connected to the hollow stems of green enamels, finished with tiny black enameled dots and long inscriptions.
Inscriptions: To the stem, Da Qing Guangxu san shi er nian Anhui taihu fujin qiu cao jinian bei (‘34th year of the Guangxu period of the Great Qing, Commemorative Cup of the Autumn Harvest, near Taihu in Anhui’).
Condition: Good condition with wear and abrasions to the enamels and underside.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
