A PORCELAIN DOUCAI ‘PAVILLON SCENE’ CUP
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republc period (1912-1949). Of elegant, tapering cylindrical form raised on a short circular foot, nicely decorated with polychrome enamels and underglaze blue with a depiction of a pavilion scene. With an apocryphal Chenghua six-character reign mark within a double circle to the underside.
Condition: Very good condition with some minor manufacturing flaws.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
