A GLAZED PORCELAIN BASIN WITH DRAGON AND BAT China, Republic period (1912-1949). Heavily potted, the compressed rounded body molded with relief ruyi-heads borne on three applied stems which support the basin. The rim applied with a ruyi stalk as well as slender dragon and bat confronting each other from opposite ends of the bowl, note the dragon’s sharp claws and spiked spinal column. Covered overall in yellow, green and aubergine glaze.

Condition: Fine condition with firing flaws, the dragon with minor losses and a repair to one spike of the mane.
