A SMALL BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ‘DRAGON’ PLATE China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949)

With shallow rounded sides, painted in underglaze blue on the show side with a dragon and a carp emerging from crushing waves. The ferocious dragon chasing the flaming pearl. The underside with a double circle and stylized bamboo stalks.

Condition: Very good condition with only little wear.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
