A PORCELAIN PLAQUE OF LIU HAI, AFTER WANG QI, REPUBLIC China, Republic period (1912-1949). Depicting Liu Hai wearing a long flowing robe with cash coins and a double-gourd tied to his waist, smiling cheerfully as he holds up his three-legged toad, which is attempting to eat one of his earrings. The calligraphy to the right of the depiction is particularly well-executed, suggesting the work of a pupil of the master porcelain painter Wang Qi. Two seals. With a modern black frame.

Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities.
