AN ARITA PORCELAIN ‘ROOSTER AND HEN’ BOWL Japan, 19^th century, Edo period (1615-1868)

The bowl standing on a circular foot ring and finely decorated in underglaze blue with a rooster and hen below flowering chrysanthemum blossoms and beside a stream. With a six-character mark 太明成化年製 Daimin Seika nensei” [Made during the Chenghua (Seika in Japanese pronunciation) era of the Great Ming Dynasty].
